Our Coaches

Bryon Barmer is the founding Pastor of the Bright Hope Community Church  located in San Diego, California.  He and his wife Jennifer are church planters who planted the Bright Hope Church in their home in 2010, and have been pastoring for 15 years. He has been married to Jennifer for 41 years and  is the father of two children, Bryeanna Smith and Bryon Barmer Jr. along with eight grand children.

Bryon also serves on the San Diego Southern Baptist Asscociation Executive Committee as well as the San Diego SBA Administrative Board. He was recently appointed to serve on the California Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee.

He is a certified Count the Cost Church Growth Consultant for the SBC, an ICF trained and certified ministry coach through Coach Approach Ministries, and the appointed Southern Regional Director of the California African American Fellowship of the Southern Baptist Convention. .  

Bryon is a graduate of the Southern California Seminary with a degree in biblical studies and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at the Gateway Seminary in Ontario, CA.
