ATTEND A COACH TRAINING

Courses completed through Converge Coaching can be applied toward the following certifications offered by Coach Approach Ministries.

Certificate in Christian Leadership Coaching (CCLC)

This curriculum is designed to equip you with the essential skills to become an effective and impactful coach. The Certified Christian Leadership Coach (CCLC) program includes 32 hours of coach-specific training and 10 hours of mentor coaching. These training components are delivered live via Zoom by a licensed trainer.

In addition, completion of the CAM 101: Introduction to Christian Coaching video course is required to fulfill the CCLC certification requirements.

Certificate in Christian Leadership Coaching Plus (CCLC+)

A level one program designed to take coaches to the ICF’s Associate Certified Coach (ACC) Certification. The CCLC+ curriculum includes 64 hours of coach training as well as 10 hours of mentor coaching. These training componets are delivered via zoom by a licensed trainer. In addition, completion of the CAM 101: Introduction to Christian Coaching video course is required to fulfill the CCLC+ certification requirements. Our CCLC+ program is Level 1 accredited with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Introduction to Coaching
Offered “on demand” at Coach Approach Ministries

This online course is a great way to begin the process of becoming a Christian coach. The course includes an introduction to the concept of coaching, an introduction to the skills of coaching, and a primer on how to get started as a coach. (Required for Certified Christian Leadership Coach credentials offered through Coach Approach Ministries.)

In this class you’ll learn how coaching is distinct from other ways of helping. You will learn the skills of a coach, basic coaching models, and how to conduct a powerful coaching conversation. This class is not just about knowledge. It’s also about growing your skills. You’ll have opportunities to practice as well as receive growth-oriented feedback. What does it take to develop a strong professional coaching relationship? It takes attention to the essentials and goes beyond expectations. In CAM 502, we teach you to do just that. In this ICF-approved course, you will learn ICF ethics and standards, how to help the person being coached to orient around areas of strengths and high-performance patterns, the ingredients for a strong first session, finding clients, and creating a coaching contract. This class will help you go beyond the doing of coaching to being a coach.

Neuroscience of Coaching – Online Session

The human brain is a wonderful and wonderfully complex organ. Knowing how the brain works (and doesn’t work) helps coaches provide better coaching. In this course, you’ll learn the basics of neuroscience (in everyday English) and how these basics apply to help clients retain, retrieve, and leverage new learning to promote growth and goal attainment. You will now understand the power of your presence and your questions to either shut down growth and learning or open new pathways through transformational thinking.

In this course, you will gain an understanding of the difference between a team and other types of groups, learn how to develop authentic teams, learn the skills needed to coach teams, how to support teams in overcoming dysfunction, use team covenants, and create alliances. This class will help you increase your effectiveness in coaching for new and deeper faith in Jesus. You will be able to use coaching skills and the coaching process to help people move forward in becoming followers of Jesus as well as increase your confidence, competence, and credibility as a catalyst for spiritual growth.

Coaching Church Planters – Online Session

Coaching church planters has its own distinctions. Planters are fundraisers, recruiters, communicators, and more. In this class, we will give 16 hours of live training (onsite or online) that give coaching models and skills specific to coaching church planters. This class is laid out with the foundation of current Church Planting best practices in mind.

Coaching a group allows a coach to help multiple clients in similar circumstances at the same time. In this course, you will learn the distinctions between individual, team, and group coaching and will be provided with a step-by-step approach to designing and facilitating group coaching sessions. A highlight of the course is the hands-on group coaching experience in the final two sessions, where students will actively participate as both coaches and clients, applying the techniques they’ve learned in a real-world setting.

Mentor Coaching

One of the requirements for coaching credentials includes ten hours of mentor coaching with a qualified ICF-credentialed coach. The mentor coaching process includes observation of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative, and dialogued process based on observed or recorded coaching sessions. This process is intended to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies. The mentor coaching includes seven hours completed with a group that meets semimonthly, plus three one-on-one sessions with the mentor coach.
