How did you balance the demands of ministry with being present as a father?

• I had to learn how to pivot from work to home. I figured out how to compartmentalize.
• I became a better steward of the limited resources (time/energy) that Jesus created me with on purpose.

How did you talk about church at home—especially after a hard Sunday or during a difficult season?

• We protected our boys from these types of situations until they were “of age.”
• When they were of age and we shared some of the challenges at church, we were careful not to overshare, and to cast a kind perspective.

How did you help your kids form strong, faith-based friendships within the church community?

• We got to know all their friends.
• We hosted pizza parties at our house after games/events.
