LEADING FROM ALIGNMENT PODCAST EPISODE 301: 6 YEARS, 6 AHA MOMENTS: WHAT WE’VE LEARNED (AND UNLEARNED) – PART 2

by | Sep 2, 2025 | Health, Leadership, Ministry Leader, Pastor

Last week, we hit a major milestone—Episode 300! To celebrate, we kicked off a special two-part series highlighting the six biggest aha moments we’ve uncovered in six years of podcasting. In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap:

  • Joy and pain often travel alongside each other. They walk hand in hand.
  • The world is big enough for all of us to succeed. There’s room at the table—success isn’t a zero-sum game.
  • Living a converged life takes risk, sacrifice, and consistency.

In today’s episode, we’re back with three more powerful aha moments that have shaped our journey and our leadership. Let’s dive in.

Aha Moment #4: You can serve God, your family, and others better when you’re healthy

  • We dare not play with our mental and emotional well-being.
  • The road back to health is a harder road than the road of staying healthy.
  •  We must be diligent with our calendar, our friendships, our bodies, and fun.

Aha Moment #5: The ministry we lead wasn’t our idea, it isn’t our baby, and no matter what happens with it, God has our best interests in mind

  • Work faithfully and with the best quality you can muster and then trust God with the results.
  • Whether your ministry prospers or not, God has your very best interests at heart.

Aha Moment #6: I’m a son, who is perfectly loved by the Father . . . with me, He is well pleased

  • Identity – If we belong to Jesus, our core identity is not what we do or what we have or what others say about us. Our core identity is we are adopted sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father.
  • Affection – We who belong to Jesus are loved perfectly, completely, immeasurably, unconditionally by our Heavenly Father.
  • Affirmation/Acceptance – He delights, rejoices, sings over His adopted children with joy.
  • When we live and lead from these three instead of for them, everything changes for the better.
