Every January, John reflects on the biggest “aha moments” from the past year. God’s Answers:

• “Converge Coaching is a source through which I provide for you . . . but it is not the I am your source.”
• “Your ability to hustle isn’t your source, I am!”
• “One of the reasons You’ve been putting so much pressure on yourself with CC is wanting to make your oldest brother proud of you.”

Three takeaways:

The pull to idolatry is frighteningly subtle

• Seemingly out of nowhere you can find yourself trusting in money or your work or your own ingenuity more than you trust your heavenly Father.

Your ability to go into workaholic overdrive is not your source – God is!

• Our human tendency to strive to “make things happen” when God seems slow to respond.

The org you lead is a source God uses to provide for you. But it is not the source.

• God’s admonition for us: “Place your full trust in Me. Put your present and your future into My loving and capable hands. When times are lean, I am your source, your portion, your provider. When times are abundant, I am your source, your portion, your provider.
