- Pre-vacation planning – a little bit of prep increases the chance you’ll have a relaxing and refreshing vacation.
- Writing prep – 2x it for a few weeks prior to vacation; that way when you return, you’re all set for the next couple of Sundays at a minimum.
- Encourage you to consider taking two Sundays off, so you won’t have to be concerned about preaching right away after you return.
- Pastoral care prep.
- Hospital visits.
- Emergency protocols – who calls who when [insert scenario] happens while you’re gone.
- Decision-making prep.
- What decisions can be made in your absence?

- What can wait? What cannot?
