John and Laura had an amazing four-week break in February this year, enjoying warm weather, sunshine, and a relaxed pace. And while taking in all that goodness, God dropped six inspirational thoughts into John’s mind and heart. In today’s episode we unpack three of those insights and then we will explore three more in next week’s episode.

Insight 1: We are often more tired than we realize.

• I did not realize how tired I was prior to starting vacation.
• Sometimes . . . until we step away from the fray . . . We often overlook our need for rest.

Insight 2: We must periodically fight for the important relationships in our life.

• We need to put sustained effort into our marriages, into our children and grandchildren.
• Some may be struggling relationally and wonder: is it worth all the demanding work required?
• Do not give up on the people you care about the most. If you’re at an impasse, get the outside help you need.

Insight 3: God’s love for us is bigger than we can comprehend.

• His love is bigger, deeper, wider than the Atlantic.
• Psalm 103:11 –” For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him.”
• His love is not contingent on our performance, it’s contingent on His faithfulness.
