John and Laura had an amazing four-week break in February this year, enjoying warm weather, sunshine, and a relaxed pace. And while taking in all that goodness, God dropped six inspirational thoughts into John’s mind and heart. In today’s episode John and Jim unpack three more of those insights.

Episode 284 Recap:

Insight 1: We are often more tired than we realize.

Insight 2: We must periodically fight for the important relationships in our life.

Insight 3: God’s love for us is bigger than we can comprehend.

Episode 285 – Three additional insights:

Insight 4: God can miraculously break through the darkness of a difficult season.

  • I wish He would always do so, but sometimes we must wait.
  • God is paying attention even during tough stretches. He is at work when we can’t see it.
  • Pastor . . . No matter how hard things are right now, hang in there. God is concerned about you, He is actively working on the matter in question, and He just may be poised to miraculously break through . . . even in a flash!

Insight 5: God is in the details.

  • One morning, I was captured by the amazing details of the small, white, cottony clouds interspersed with the beautiful blue sky. I heard His whisper: “John, I’m in the details.”
  • Father God loves us so much that He cares about every detail in our life—big and small. He wants us to invite Him into every detail of our lives, big and small.

Insight 6: Let God produce through you . . . Let Him carry the weight.

  • This download happened on a Sunday morning when we were visiting a church. As the gathering was ending, the pastor spoke what I believe to be a prophetic word: “Some men in this room today need to stop putting unending pressure on themselves to produce.” Jim, that one landed with me. And as I took a moment to ponder what I just heard the pastor say, I sensed my Father whisper again: “John, stop putting nonstop pressure on yourself to produce. Instead, let Me produce through you. Allow Me to carry the pressure for you.”
  • This insight does not mean I stop putting in a good effort each day I work. I think what it means is I keep planting and watering in a responsible manner and let Father God bear the weight of the results.
  • This approach leads to peace. Joy. Better sleep.
  • God has the fruit of your labors firmly in His loving grip.
