It’s national election season again. While we’re not sure the 2024 election will reach the fever pitch of the 2020 election, we think it’s safe to assume there’s going to be some tension. In today’s episode John and Jim unpack four perspectives that will help you manage that tension

A few things to get out of the way:

• Most evangelical churches have a mix of conservatives, independents, and liberal . . . and often they are evenly split among the three groups.
• This idea that a pastor cannot or should not talk about politics.
• How do we sift through all the disinformation, lies, and conflicting reports of this season, along with the emotions we leaders feel about all this stuff?

Four Perspectives:

• Go into this season rested physically, mentally, and emotionally.
• Ask God for discernment.
  • Spend more time listening to the One who never lies.
  • More focus on His voice and less on other voices screaming for our attention.
• Consider reducing or saying completely goodbye to media platforms.
• Remember our war is not with people.
