Master Key 1: Be clear

• Clarity is kindness.

• Church staff who try to be great at ten things usually end up being great at nothing.
• Strategically pick a few ministries that support the mission and focus there.
• Stop feeding horses nobody is riding.

Master Key 3: Be a developer

• Provide opportunities to gain experience and advance.
• Give your team someone to look up to, to respect, to emulate.

• Don’t be the guy who wants to hog all the work.
• Don’t be fooled into thinking you’re helping people when you do things for them that they are fully capable of doing themselves.
• Pastoral ministry possesses an invisible pull toward the micro (tactical) at the expense of the macro (strategic).
